A Texas woman’s case has made headlines after her seemingly routine, post-surgical urine test came back at $17,850 dollars. In 2015, Elizabeth Moreno underwent back surgery to correct a spinal abnormality that caused her debilitating pain. Her health insurance covered the successful surgery, and her doctor prescribed hydrocodone, an opioid painkiller. On a later visit, the doctor asked for a urine sample....

Microsoft has announced that, as part of a free “retrofit,” it will replace parts of its Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel controller, after receiving reports of the units overheating and giving off smoke. According to a statement on Microsoft’s Xbox website, “a component in the Wheel chassis may in rare cases overheat and release smoke when the AC-DC power supply is used to energize the Wheel.” The Associated Press reports that Microsoft has sold about 230,000 of the Wireless Racing Wheel components worldwide....

An Ohio man who confessed to a fatal DUI on YouTube has pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide as well as operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Wednesday’s plea by Matthew Cordle, 22, was a bit of a 180 from his position in court last week, when he had pleaded not guilty to all charges. According to The Associated Press, Cordle is certain to “lose driving privileges for life.” No matter what his story is now, Cordle will likely be telling it from behind bars....

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Sheree Whitfield has secured a $75,000 child support settlement from her ex-husband Bob Whitfield. The drama over the child support payments has been publicly played out on the hit reality television series. In one Real Housewives episode, fellow cast member Phaedra Parks even represented Sheree Whitfield in court against her ex-husband. Bob Whitfield was ordered to pay $81,000 in back child support. Along with the settlement amount, the former Atlanta Falcon was also ordered to pay $1,000 installments to fulfill the missed payments as well as paying Sheree $2,142 in ongoing payments, reports the Examiner....

The felony charge stems from the fact that Amber Portwood committed the alleged acts in the presence of a child. If Portwood is convicted on all counts, she would face up to three years in jail and a $10,000 fine. Morissette, 39, and her husband Mario Treadway had hired Bianca Cambeiro to take care of their son, Ever, three to four days a week back in August 2011, People reports. Two aspirin products being sold over-the-counter by Bayer Healthcare have not received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “new drug” approval for their marketed uses, and the manufacturer has received two warning letters from the FDA, the agency announced Tuesday. The warning letters concern “Bayer Women’s Low Dose Aspirin + Calcium” and “Bayer Aspirin with Heart Advantage”.
