Both Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin have been named in a federal criminal complaint that alleges the actresses bribed their children’s ways into their respective colleges. The actresses were not alone, but rather part of a much larger group of other parents alleged to have engaged in the same or similar conduct. The mastermind of the criminal activity has apparently revealed all. 

Details of the Scheme

Allegedly, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli paid half a million dollars in order to have their non-athletic daughters be considered as athlete-recruits for the university crew team. And apparently, Huffman got some extra help for her daughter on her SAT, which resulted in an almost unheard-of 400-point boost. And as you might suspect, social media is absolutely loving every moment of the legal celebrity gossip.

Basically, the actresses and other wealthy parents would contact a middleman sort of person who, for a bribe, could put them in touch with a coach or other insider at a school or test center, who, for a bribe, would help with admission or SAT results. One of the common schemes involved the coaches designating the student as an athlete-recruit, who would get a preference in admissions.
