Has teen rapper Chief Keef been arrested again? Yes, and this time, it’s for marijuana. According to a police report obtained by TMZ, the 17-year-old Keef was allegedly smoking pot at a fancy hotel in DeKalb County, Georgia.
No further details have been released on the most recent arrest of Keef (whose real name is Keith Cozart). We do know that he is being charged with disorderly conduct for this incident, however.
What is disorderly conduct?
Police tend to perform disorderly conduct arrests when the suspect is not necessarily being dangerous or hurting others, but instead is behaving in any way that is disruptive. Disorderly conduct laws are often used as a “catch-all” to reel in those who are being especially obnoxious or unruly in a way that is distracting to and disturbs the peace of the public.
In many cases, when police come across someone who they think is acting in a manner that is disorderly (but not illegal or dangerous), they will first communicate this to them and request that they stop.
However, in Chief Keef’s case, seeing as how he was caught smoking pot, this may very likely have been a dominant factor in his arrest.
Keef has been arrested twice before, has a gun conviction, and is dealing with a child support suit from a woman who claims she gave birth to his son.
It seems like Chief Keef can’t catch a break. Maybe he should just try to stay out of trouble.
