Reports of serious injury have prompted the worldwide recall of Mattel, Inc.’s “Polly Pocket” magnetic playsets, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced. The playsets include plastic dolls and accessories that have small magnets, and CPSC has received 170 reports of these magnets coming off, including three cases of serious injury to children who swallowed more than one magnet. CPSC advises consumers to immediately take these recalled toys away from children, and to contact Mattel for information on returning the toys and receiving a voucher for the value of the toy.
